You signed up to play in Medium’s sandbox, and you must abide by their rules.

Yeah, I signed up, but I didn’t think I was signing up to play in a sandbox, as you aptly described it. But a sandbox is exactly what it’s turned into, sadly enough. Cutting through your rhetoric, what you’re really saying apropos of my problems with Medium is, essentially, love it or leave it. Is that also your attitude towards people who complain about problems with the U.S. or its government? Like, all those people so busy dividing the country and complaining about racism and “white supremacy” (whatever that is) in the U.S. ought to just pack their bags and go somewhere else where they like it and feel more wanted, right? No, thanks. I prefer to do my small part to fix problems, or at least to suggest solutions, both as far as Medium goes and as far as the nation at large goes. I’d rather engage than disengage. And, no, I’m not going to pay to support Medium, not when it’s a dysfunctional mess that refuses to make the kinds of changes necessary to create a thriving intellectual community rather than a pigsty full of filthy, bellicose oinkers.
