Dear Country Club Republicans: Please Reconsider … Endorse Donald Trump!

Country Club Republicans Reminiscing About Their Handicaps
  • Opposes our destructive foreign wars and costly alliances that are relics of the Cold War (just like Hillary Clinton herself) and recognizes a new geopolitical reality in which our intervention in foreign lands has, again and again (think bringing down Hussein in Iraq, deposing Qaddafi in Libya, undermining Assad in Syria, supporting extremism-spreading Saudi Arabia, etc.), caused rather than preventing terrorism.
  • Recognized that unwillingness, motivated by political correctness, of politicians like Obama and Clinton even to speak aloud the obvious fact that Islamic extremism is bringing terrorism to our nation and the world and, at the same time, their willingness, again motivated by political correctness, to admit an unchecked flood of Muslims to the U.S. when it is known, for instance, that 13% of Syrian migrants support ISIS, or that 51% of Muslims in the U.S. would want the option of being governed by shariah law rather than the U.S. Constitution, and nearly 20% would support the use of violence to make shariah the law of the land (see here), are endangering our country, much as they have already brought chaos to much of Western Europe.
  • Understood that when we continue admitting a flood of unskilled, illegal immigrants from South of the border, we are setting ourselves up for disaster because (i) low-skilled jobs are already rapidly disappearing from our economy as a result of automation, so that we cannot find ways to employ people here legally, much less those who are here illegally; and (ii) such immigrants, who largely live in the shadows and remain poor, further exacerbate the problem of economic inequality and the formation of economic ghettos, destabilizing us economically and politically.
  • Grasped the fact that free trade is great when it’s an advantageous economic policy but bad when it becomes an uncritical ideology, as it has in many segments of the right and on the neoliberal left, and if we want to advance American interests, we need to look at our trade deals critically and keep only those in place that don’t send American jobs overseas or reward other nations, such as China, for breaking the rules.
  • Understood the fact that American corporations that send jobs overseas must be punished, not rewarded; and
  • Managed to appreciate the fact that we are no longer fighting and don’t need to be fighting the Cold War, and a technologically advanced, civilized nation such as Russia should be a useful ally in our common fight against terrorist barbarism rather than an enemy that we needlessly antagonize when we encourage and revolution dissension in Russia’s backyard (i.e., Ukraine), bring NATO to Russia’s doorstep or impose sanctions on Russia for defending its interests against our incursions.
