I can’t be responsible for what others do, but personally I’ve never blocked anyone on Medium. I think blocking should be reserved for instances of pure harassment (and though I’ve dealt with more than my share of idiots and vulgarians here, I’ve never felt compelled to block anyone). As it is, we live in a society where we are too comfortable tuning out anyone with whom we disagree. I believe in meeting disagreement head-on, and I’ve often been able to find common ground with people here. If more of us were willing to engage rather than disengage, we’d be living in a much healthier society.
