I’m afraid with your complacent little jokes and your smug attitude substituting for actual engagement with important political issues, you don’t exactly have me pegged correctly. I’m not a Republican or a conservative. As far as I’m concerned, the worst president in my lifetime was George W. Bush. I liked Obama when he was first running, but he quickly disappointed me (and many others) by appointing the very same people who caused the 2007 financial crisis to bail out the big banks, etc. I was a Bernie Sanders supporter, but when Corporate Clinton defeated him in the primaries, largely by pandering to African Americans in the South who hadn’t heard of Bernie, I much preferred Trump to the candidate of the Big-Bank/Saudi-oil-funded, corporate-cronyism-supporting neoliberal war monger Corporate Clinton. But I’m not some crazed supporter of anything and everything Trump does, and I have significant reservations about him. It’s just that I believe in being reflective and thoughtful, and in approaching each policy idea on its own terms rather than just forming some global knee-jerk reaction against everything the man does.
