Ironically, it’s Clinton and her supporters who represent the alt-left, which is the identity politics-peddling wing of the Democratic Party, as opposed to the traditional progressive wing led by Bernie Sanders. I describe the distinction in more detail here. Neoconservative and neoliberals like Clinton need to use identity politics to pander to their constituencies and make them forget about their regressive, corporate-cronyist economic agenda.
