“Slave master DNA”? That’s obviously absurd, and it’s extra absurd in my case, since I wasn’t even born here.
The simple reason an all-black graduation is a big problem is that it’s a very short step from that back to race-segregated schools, workplaces, bathrooms and everything else.

The summary of that answer is that if we want to live in one country, we need one American culture, and the more we have race-segregated graduations, schools, neighborhoods, workplaces, churches, families and cultures, the more animosity and distrust and racism we’re going to have. If we want to live in separate countries, of course, then these kinds of segregation are just fine. But most of us haven’t yet reached that precipice.
