Thanks for reading and for your response.

I joined Medium when it first got started, and I was naively hopeful then that it would truly be an open platform that would promote writing based on merit. I was pretty quickly disillusioned. It got rapidly overrun by hateful and petty identity idiots peddling incoherent nonsense about “white supremacy,” “white privilege” and other such racist pablum. The worst part, however, was that Medium seemed to go out of its way to support these people while suppressing dissent. I’d documented some of its rampant bias here:

Since back when I wrote this, the larger biases of all of these big tech and social media monoliths, whether Twitter or Facebook or Google, have been documented and revealed (though, of course, haven’t gotten the amount of press coverage they deserved because the mainstream media is dominated by the same people). And the irony of all of this is that based on most studies I’ve seen, the views these corporations are promoting are often totally out of the mainstream, reflecting the hardcore extremism of a small subset of disproportionately wealthy and privileged progressive activists who dominate media, academia and the entertainment industry and so have an outsized voice in our culture. It’s a huge systemic problem that keeps getting worse day by day.
