Well … look, I guess there are just too many complex empirical issues in play here for me to feel confident that I’m right or that you’re right. The one clear point to me (and to you as well, I assume) is that our current system doesn’t work, and I haven’t yet seen any promising proposals from Congress to fix it (Rand Paul’s idea seemed like the best thing that was out there, from what I saw). If you come across any ideas for fixes that you feel strongly about at any point, please do pass them along, as I’d be curious.
